I am very much enjoying my retirement in good health and especially enjoying playing my wonderful Steinway grand piano. My husband and I especially enjoy the very leisurely lifestyle of retirement free from jarring predawn alarm clocks and hectic commuting. I especially enjoyed all my music and English classes at MHS and singing with the Senior Sextette. I also enjoyed Mr. Rosenbuschs ninth grade science class, Mr. Bodes plane geometry class and Mr. Stephens American history class.
After graduating from MHS in 1960, I entered the Oberlin Conservatoryof Music the fall of 1960 as a,,,, piano major. However, after just a few months I lost my health and was hospitalized for a long period. I attended Marietta College in 1961 and 1962 and entered Mountain State College the fall of 1963. I graduated from Mountain State the spring,, of 1965 with an executive secretary certificate. I began my 27 year federal government career at the IRS the fall of 1964 in Washington,DC. It was there I met my husband Abed Mufti who was a Syrian diplomat. We owned and operated the book and gift store Reverie in Marietta from 1969 until 1975 when we moved to Boulder CO and opened the bookstore Socrates Books for a brief period. I returned to working for the federal government in 1978 at the GAO as a typist and gradually worked my way up to the position of Management Analyst when I retired in March 2003 at age 60.
