William Joseph Vernon III (Bill), 84, died at home on Monday, October 27, 2025 after a year-long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Prayers and thoughts for our dear friend and classmate and to his family whom he loved dearly. Bill was a loyal and dedicated servant to our class. His primary objective was to maintain our class integrity to the standard we experienced during our four years at the "high school on the hill", Marietta High School (Tigers).
The Designation of "President Emeritus" of the Marietta High School Class of 1959 was bestowed upon William Joseph Vernon III, on August 29, 2025, for his life long dedication to all 227 members of our MHS graduation class. Without his untiring efforts, we as a class, would not have the connectivity we share and enjoy so much today. Many of us individually have thanked Bill over the years. This award is from all of us and recognizes his years of valuable leadership and selfless dedication to our class.
Bill's LEGACY; "ALWAYS FOR THE GOOD OF THE CLASS".
FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS, BILL; THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO COUNTRY, CLASSMATES AND GOD BLESS YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
REST IN PEACE!
