Many of you remember Grover Buxton the MHS Band Director and were aware that he was in WWII as a co-pilot on a B-24 bomber.  After the war Grover sought to make the world a little kinder place and he focused on music as a means. Roger was one of many that Grover planted with the seed of the love of music. I personally believe that the MHS Band and Orchestra of that period was the very best in the area. Roger accomplished much with his love of music, Grover and many classmates wish to say to Roger "well done"..

A good tribute to Mr. Buxton and Roger Hock, Fred. Band and to a lesser degree, orchestra, were a big part of my life at MHS. I have carried the love of music with me throughout life. I hope Roger did too. RIP, Roger.

Roger obviously did love music throughout his life. I didn’t realize his occupation was musician.

Fred, your tribute was well said. I think he and Mr. Buxton are smiling.

I did not know Roger very well but I do remember him as a kind courteous person.

Rest in peace Roger.
